One of the questions that students and parents ask most frequently is: how do the SAT and the ACT compare and/or differ? The ways in which the tests are scored and they way in which questions are posed differ between the two tests. Also, the ACT combines a science test in the composite score. Students who are particularly strong in science, in particular, might want to consider taking the ACT. Also, the ACT has traditionally had a “score choice” program; that is, colleges never see a student’s ACT score unless the student chooses to send it.
For a clear comparison between the SAT and ACT, take a look at this NY Times article, “ACT vs SAT”.
